Children Banned from Airlines

The Ban on Brats is not a new epidemic. There are websites that allow people to book vacations where children are not allowed. LeaveThemBehind.com People without children continue to be a  huge part of where are spending dollars come from. That is why there are so many different types of businesses joinging in on the Ban on Brats.

In July, Malaysia Airlines banned children from first class cabins on their Boeing 747-400 jets after complaints from passengers who were unable to sleep during their travels. If parents want to bring there children on the airline, they are restricted to business and coach cabins. Many people think that there could be less restrictive measures. Why not provide bassinets and nurses for sick children?

One lady said that she was on a flight with her 18 month old son and was kicked off the flight because her baby was talking and babbling too loud. The other passengers were complaining so security came and removed her from the airline. To me this is ridiculous behavior on the airlines part. Do you think that banning kids is more about banning bad parenting?

  1. Hey Linda, your post was an interesting one. I guess I can see it from both sides of the argument as I did have to travel often with 2 small children at one time and now that my kids are teenagers being around unruly and loud toddlers and children can be irritating to say the least.
If someone pays a hefty price for a first class seat they should be able to enjoy some peace and quiet. Many people who fly first class do so on business and they often need to work or rest while they are in the air. The last thing that they want to or should have to deal with is screaming children, so I do understand their point of view.
However, it is necessary to travel with small children in life and they can become scared by the experience or maybe they are sick when they are flying and this is the reason for the noisy disturbances. I don't think it is fair to ban children from flights or to remove them from one if they are being noisy due to fright, fatigue or illness. As long as they are kept out of first or business class the noise should be tolerated as many of the people flying know what it is like to have to deal with young children, having had them, themselves at one point in time.

  2. This is a very interesting topic that you have posted in your blog. I too believe that this is too much and that parents can’t help it, they have to have their children with them because of the fact that maybe they can’t find anyone to babysit or there are some parents who do not trust other people with their children. Some parents are just in this alone when it comes to caring for their children. People have to understand what parents go through and they need to be a little more sympathetic towards them.
