Right or Wrong?

What is your opinion on banning children of a certain age from eating in restaurants or flying on an airplane? There seems to be a bit of controversy on this subject. Most people with children think that this concept is outrageous while people without children do not think that it is such a bad idea when it comes to certain types of restaurants.

Banning children from some public places is now being called the "Brat Ban." On the Dr. Phil show he has guests that are talking about their experiences with being kicked out of restaurants, out of libraries and off of airplanes because of their child's behavior. http://www.drphil.com/shows/show/1686/. The guests consist of parents, non-parents, and waiters/waitresses who all have their own opinion about the "Brat Ban."

Parents and children share in the responsibility for the way that children act in public. Parents cannot expect their children to behave in public if they are not made to mind at home. Children do not understand the concept that it is alright to act "bad" at home but when you go to public places you have to act "good." I have two boys that are well behaved but they are normal boys and they are going to act up in public sometimes and they do. They also know that if they are told to quiet down, if we are in a restaurant, or stop arguing and picking at each other they need to stop or they will be in trouble. I know I have been to restaurants before and kids are running wild and the parents are oblivious to them. So should some parent's actions of not paying attention and making their children behave result in a ban on all children?

In my next four posts I will go over different places and scenarios where children have been banned and parents and children have been asked to leave because of their child’s behavior.
